Alternative Housing: Yurts

I've had a major obsession with yurts for awhile now. Something about the simplicity, shape, and tradition of this type of housing is very appealing to me.

It's my dream to live in a yurt someday. Check out some of these examples, so you can see that it's not as crazy at it sounds...

They come from a variety of manufacturers or you can even make your own. Depending on the size and materials used, they run from about $5,000 to $10,000 (not including the land or utilities, but those are minor details, right?).

There are many other forms of alternative housing out there that are equally as low-impact and simple. Check out this blog for a few more ideas.
